NPO becomes a lifeline for Mina Nawe community

Food is distributed on weekdays from 15:00 to 16:00.

Mina Nawe Community Care Partners, an NPO in Daveyton, continues to assist those who are in need by serving them food.

Lerato Mqwuayi, one of the beneficiaries, said the NPO has become a beacon of hope for her.

“I started collecting food from the organisation after my husband and I lost our jobs.

“When it’s distribution day, I come with my children to help carry the food,” said Mqwuayi.

Another beneficiary, Mpho Nevari, said she has been benefiting from the organisation for more than two years.

“This organisation has been of help because it has enabled me to put food on the table.

“I no longer go to bed hungry because I know the organisation is there for us in times of need,” Nevari added.

One of the elderly beneficiaries, Shadrak Serot said he is grateful for the organisation and hopes it will continue for more years to come.

The founder of the NPO, Nick Madi, said the organisation was established in 2020 when hunger became apparent in many households following the pandemic.

“Our vision is to transform and empower people’s lives,” said Madi. Food is distributed on weekdays from 15:00 to 16:00.
