House robber caught in the act

A television, laptop, alcohol and other electrical appliances were recovered outside the property.

Members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) arrested a 36-year-old house robber when he was caught red-handed in an Appelblaar Street residence in Glen Marais.

Police members along with members from a local security company responded to a call of a house robbery in progress on May 1, around 06:20,.

“The suspect was found on the premises along with house robbery implements and household items that had been removed from the home,” said WO Grant Giblin, BFS spokesperson.

“Upon further investigation, it was found that the silver Honda Civic, which was parked across the road and had been used by the suspect bore false registration plates. It had been reported as stolen in Sebenza.”

The suspect will be appearing in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court.
