Slipper Day is on May 6 and supporter stickers are now available for purchase.
For 34 years, the Reach for a Dream Foundation has been fulfilling the dreams of children fighting life-threatening illnesses.
According to Julia Sotirianakos, Reach For A Dream CEO, these little dreamers’ childhoods are marred with endless doctors’ visits, lengthy hospital stays and often painful treatments, which is why the foundation remains committed to inspiring hope in these children and their families’ lives.
Reach For A Dream has previously been supported by Wimpy, Dis-Chem Pharmacies and Pick n Pay for Slipper Day, its largest annual fund-raiser.
“With the onboarding of two new partners this year, ToyZone and Baby City, the foundation intends to reach more South Africans.
“This fun initiative is geared to every single South African, any age and any industry, from schools, corporates to individuals. Last year, through your support, we generated over R6-million. All funds were used to fulfil the dreams of our little dreamers.
“With your support this year, we plan to fulfil even more dreams and reach our target of R8-m.”
In the spirit of this year’s running themes, Unity and Support, Reach For A Dream encourages South Africans to stand together and show their support on Slipper Day.
Sotirianakos said that throughout history the foundation has seen the impossible made possible when South Africans stand together for change.
“Our call to action this year is simple. We ask all South Africans to rally behind us and play their part in being visible agents of change. The foundation’s biggest goal is to have every single South African in slippers on May 6.
“Each sticker purchased goes towards Reach For A Dream Foundation, helping children harness the power of their dreams, to fight life-threatening illnesses and make these dreams come true.
