Special licensing dispensation for the elderly and people living with disabilities

Senior citizens are urged to take advantage of this golden opportunity.

The City of Ekurhuleni has reserved the last Saturday of every month for 60-year-olds and older to get their vehicle licenses at all licensing centres as from March 26.

While the services will still be available to elderly residents throughout the week, the last Saturday of the month is reserved for them.

Booked driver’s license and learner’s license tests that fall on these Saturdays will not be interrupted.

The MMC for Community Safety, Victor Moseki, urged elderly residents not to miss the opportunity to use these Saturdays.

“As a caring City we are trying, by all means, to have all communities catered for when visiting our licensing centres, especially the elderly and people living with disabilities,” said Moseki

People living with disabilities are encouraged to contact the divisional heads of licensing, Hamilton Ledwaba and Rodney Goliath, to make arrangements for their specific needs.

Ledwaba may be contacted at Hamilton.ledwaba@ekurhuleni.go.za or 065 930 7844, while Goliath may be contacted at Rodney.goliath@ekurhuleni.gov.za or 082 676 8230.
