50-hour planned water supply interruption – Benoni

The planned water supply interruption will be from today, February 18 at 18:00.

The Ekurhuleni metro said it has received notification from Rand Water about a planned 50-hour water supply interruption from today, February 18 to Sunday, February 20 at 18:00.

Metro spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said the water supply interruption is due to a tie-in of the newly installed inlet pipeline for the 210ML Vlakfontein reservoir to the existing S1 pipeline by Rand Water.

The following areas will be affected: Morehill, Crystal Park, Hillcrest, Chief Albert Luthuli, Daveyton, Mayfield and Etwatwa.

Dlamini said water tankers will be dispatched to assist communities in the affected areas and their location details will be communicated through the municipal social media platforms.
