Ermelo robbery suspects arrested in Etwatwa

Investigations are still continuing as police search for the four men that fled the scene.

Three men were arrested in Sword Lily Crescent, Extension One, Etwatwa West, on February 8 in connection with a house robbery in Ermelo.

Members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) received information regarding the possible hide-out of suspects being sought in connection with a house robbery.

“Upon arrival at the property, four suspects fled the scene,” said WO Grant Giblin, spokesperson for BFS.

“Officers gave chase while others remained to conduct a search of the premises. Two vehicles, a white Mercedes-Benz and white Toyota Etios, suspected to have been used in the crime, was found parked on the property.”

According to Giblin, while investigations were being conducted, a white Ford Ranger with three occupants arrived on the scene.
“Officers found two 9mm pistols in an outside room and another inside the Mercedes-Benz, 30 rounds of live ammunition were also recovered,” he said.

“Further investigations indicated that two of the firearms were reported as stolen in Hercules and Olifantsfontein, while the third, which belonged to one of the suspects, was allegedly rented out for the robbery in question. Suspected stolen goods and house break-in implements were seized, along with over R19 000 in cash.”

Investigations are still continuing as police search for the four men that fled the scene.
