A joint operation between members of the EMPD, Gauteng Traffic Police and SAPS members yielded positive results in Benoni recently.
The five-hour operation was conducted at Kingsway Road and Voortrekker Street in Benoni, focusing mainly on taxis.
According to EMPD media liaison officer Lerato Monyane, eight taxis were impounded on Kingsway Road while 12 taxis were impounded at Voortrekker Street.
A further 34 notices were issued to road users.
