Rotarians awarded at the Paul Harris Fellowship awards evening

Honouring Rotarians for their extraordinary service to the community was of top priority at the Rotary Club of Benoni Aurora’s annual Paul Harris Fellowship Awards evening.

The event was held on December 1 at the Benoni Lakes Country Club for club members to attend one of the most prestigious events on the Clubs calendar.

Rotarian Heidi Tucker was recognised as an honorary member of the club and received the Paul Harris Sapphire Award, which entails being awarded a second Paul Harris Fellowship Award.

The Paul Harris Fellowship Award is the most esteemed award handed out by any Rotary club, recognising exceptional work done in the past year by members of the society.

Past President Sonja Shear and Jane Doo both received awards for their much-appreciated work done for the club.

President of the club Yegalan Chetty with communications chair Sonja Shear presented a recognition award to Benoni City Times for their 100 years of service in keeping the local community updated with news.

After giving recognition to where it was due, all guests and Rotarians were treated to a delicious dinner and an opportunity to fellowship.
