They walked and ran for a good cause

The bank account is still open for donations and will remain open consistently

The Parks Farmers Market & Pizzeria based in Nortons Home Estate organised a run/walk on October 31 in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with all proceeds donated to a cancer beneficiary.

Everyone was asked to come dressed in pink and bring along their fur babies, which they did, leading the total amount raised to R14 533.

The bank account is still open for donations and will remain open consistently without fail accepting donations daily, monthly and yearly.

“The breast cancer awareness walk/run was the perfect way to end pink October,” said the owner of Parks Farmers Market & Pizzeria, Paola van Zyl.

On offer was a 2km, 5km and 10km route.

“We had a tremendous turnout from the community supporting this worthy cause. People of all ages made the effort to dress up and their pets joined in the fun.

“The money raised was from entry fees, raffles, donations and for every pink gin on tap sold, a percentage was donated.

“The proceeds will be split between various people needing medical treatment and to Knitted Knockers who will continue to bless people at various oncology centres.”

If you would like to donate towards this worthy cause contact Christel van Eeden on 083 321 7076 for banking details or more information.

Donations will always be welcomed, don’t forget to make your reference “breast cancer awareness” and the next event will take place in October next year.
