From our centenary to yours

Benoni City Times turned 100 and so did a few of our Rynpark community residents, some are even 101.

Bert Denman (101) from Rynpark 4 was ecstatic to receive a hamper from BCT journalist, Jemma Pringle, who represented the City Times and sponsors who made the hampers.

The Benoni City Times collaborated with Pick n Pay and Dis-Chem to buy items with the R1 000 voucher that both depots donated towards making hampers for community members who are 100 years and older.

A huge thank you to Pick n Pay Oakfields and Dis-Chem Farrarmere Square for their contributions.

The City Times wish our 100-year-old’s the best and hope they enjoyed their hampers as much as we enjoyed gifting them.

Rynpark 5 resident, Johanna Cornelius, said the world is good to her as she sat in awe of her gift hamper. The 100-year-old said she could not believe how spoilt she was with the hamper. She is seen with Jemma Pringle (journalist).

Sharon van der Merwe of Dischem assisted the Benoni City Times by donating vouchers to be used in buying the hampers for those 100 years and older.
