These are difficult times for everyone: help by donating

The elderly have a soft spot in her heart and she believes we as a community must look after them together.

Cloverdene resident Luzaan Wilson has decided to start an initiative that gives back to the elderly, to care for the generation who once cared for us.

“To care for those who once cared for us is the highest honour, in my opinion,” said Luzaan.

“I want to treat the elderly in the old age homes around the East Rand with a pamper pack, including foot care, skincare, haircare and some other goodies.

“They only receive a certain amount in grants from the government, which might prevent them from buying any luxuries. Please help me make this possible.”

“My mum died about a month ago and she was my whole heart,” she said.

“I feel I want to give back to the elderly community. We can make them feel special with small things. They don’t receive their normal visits because of the pandemic from their loved ones like in the past, so let’s make them smile in other ways.

“This is just a small gesture to treat them and make them feel that we are thinking of them in these tough times. We know they are loved but no harm can come from a little extra spoiling.”

Luzaan explained that if you have an elderly relative that stays in a home, you might understand why she has started this project.

“Any donations are welcome and I will share photos of the joy you spread in their lives when I deliver these special gifts. In a time where the only thing spreading like wildfire is the virus, let’s spread the joy and love to the people that need it most,” she concluded.
