The Animal Guardians (TAG) are allowing dog rescue parents to show off their fur babies by entering the Show Off Your Rescue photo competition.
A rescue dog is a dog that has been placed in a new home after being abused, neglected, or abandoned by its previous owner.
Animals in any shape and form and adopted from any rescue centre are eligible to be entered.
Annalise Jungmann director of the organisation said adopting a rescue is giving a second chance to those that have been let down, saving a life, and finding that special pawsome friend.
By entering the competition, pet parents stand a chance to win great prizes to spoil their dogs. Whether your dog wants to dress up or pose just as it is, all you need to do is send the picture via WhatsApp to 076 330 5136.
The organisation will upload all pictures on social media for community members to place their votes.
There will be three winners, which will be selected by the public. The City Times will publish the winner along with their rescue story.
First prizes include pet hampers, doggy quilts, and toys. All entries cost R20 per photo and all funds raised will go towards the welfare of the animals at TAG.
The competition closes on August 31.
