Pedestrian struck and killed by a light motor vehicle in Benoni

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was killed this morning when he was struck by a light motor vehicle on Liverpool Road in Benoni.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 07h47 to find the local authorities and Provincial Services already in attendance.

A man, in his 30s, was found lying in the middle of the road in front of a light motor vehicle.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained a significant head injury and showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead by the Provincial EMS.

The driver of the vehicle, fortunately, escaped injury. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
