Food parcels bring gratitude from hardworking staff

A total of 100 parcels were given out.

Lakeside Mall partnered with Pick n Pay, Panarottis and Wimpy to hand out food parcels, pizza and refreshments that had been put together and sponsored by these organisations.

“The initiative was organised by Lakeside Mall Centre management and we partnered with the three organisations,” said Chantell Roemer, Lakeside Mall portfolio manager.

“Some of the items included in the food parcels were maize meal, rice, tinned food, vegetables, soup, noodles, cooking oil.”

The parcels were given out to the groups that work at the mall such as security guards, cleaners, the landscaping team, the ‘Don’t Waste Team’ and car guards.

“Lakeside Mall would like to salute our frontline team for the tireless commitment and dedication to Lakeside Mall,” said Chantell.

“Your hard work reflects in the countless hours you put in to keeping our shoppers and tenants safe, maintaining the mall and keeping it clean despite the cold, amidst a pandemic and a period of recent unrest.

“We are delighted to have such a terrific team working at the mall, and we would like to express our deepest gratitude to each team member of the mall.

“A special thank you to our generous tenants (Pick n Pay, Panarottis and Wimpy) for partnering with us and sponsoring food hampers, meals and refreshments for our Lakeside Mall amaqhawe.”
