Be a Sport … and win a supplement hamper from The Harvest Table

One lucky winner will walk away with this hamper and all you need to do to win is answer two easy questions.

The City Times and The Harvest Table are giving away a hamper containing two of their products, Power Protein Shake and Whey Protein Powder, valued at R1 200 to one lucky reader.

In order to put yourself in line to win, you need to read up about the City Times Be a Sport project, which we are running as part of our Journey to 100 Years in support of Mandela Month.

The project seeks to collect used and new sporting equipment for less fortunate clubs and organisations in Benoni.

Northerns general manager Rod Scheepers was on hand to help City Times editor Lana O’Neill to take delivery of a full box of donations recently.

The donations have already started to roll in at our drop-off points and we extend a massive thank you to all the members of these clubs who made a donation!

About The Harvest Table

The Harvest Table is a family-run business based in Kwazulu-Natal. They believe ancient wisdom can be used to guide the lifestyle choices we make today and that returning to some of the ancient traditions can be exceptionally beneficial.

The Harvest Table’s products are additive-, preservative- and filler-free.

The Power Protein Shake is one of the items being given away in the hamper.

Here is some brief product information on the items up for grabs.

Power Protein Shake and Whey Protein powder:

The Power Protein Shake is based on the powerful combination of grass-fed whey concentrate, collagen and l-glutamine which not only builds muscle but also looks after the gut. Athletes for many years have used whey protein to build muscle. Many whey proteins on the market are over-processed and can be damaging to the digestive system, leading to ulcers and discomfort. A good quality grass-fed whey is much gentler on the system.

But why have athletes only focused on muscle building when joint maintenance is equally important?

By adding collagen into your routine, you can now not only build muscle but look after your joints and ligaments to prevent injury.

The Power Protein Shake is lightly flavoured with pure chocolate and sweetened with their Lean Suga.

It also contains MCT oil powder from a coconut source, which gives your body energy when you need it most as well as magnesium to support muscle function.

Whey protein is a premium source of protein.

It is rapidly digested by the body allowing fast absorption of its nutritional benefits into the bloodstream and muscles.

Their whey concentrate is sourced from grass-fed cattle raised in the pastures of New Zealand.

Whey concentrate is the best and least-processed form of whey protein because it contains low levels of fat and cholesterol and higher levels of bioactive compounds in the form of lactose.

Because it’s minimally processed, it retains the health-promoting nutrients that are found naturally in whey.

You may even find that whey protein concentrate has a more satisfying flavour than other types of whey protein, which is due to its lactose and fat content.
