The mutual love for music between Daveyton residents Paulus Mohlala and David Mokoena inspired the duo to establish the record label Deep Tech Entertainment in 2000.

After years of nurturing up-and-coming artists, the label was officially registered in 2021.

Mohlala explained that they specialise in different genres of music, but have decided to focus more on Amapiano, which is a style of house music that emerged in South Africa in 2012.

“We believe that music is made to heal our souls and we want to pass it on to the next generation.”

Speaking of the next generation, the label offers free studio time for the youth, to encourage those who are trying to get into the music industry.

The label has signed a few artists including Mohlala’s 10-year-old son Kagiso, who recently released an Amapiano single.

“We were also given the releasing rights for the remix of the song Stimela Sase-Zola by Mbongeni Ngema, which we will be releasing soon.”
