Scott couple will be missed

Messages of condolences were shared across social media for the death of the Rynfield couple.

Heartfelt condolences poured in about the death of CPF Sector One chairperson Brandon Scott, who died on June 23 due to Covid-19 complications.

Stepson Michael confirmed that Brandon died 11 days after his wife, Maggie Scott, who also died from Covid-related complications.

Michael added that the couple had been battling the virus for about two weeks and Brandon had been placed on the ventilator the morning of Maggie’s death on June 12.

Chairperson of AfriForum Benoni and CPF Sector One committee member Archie Mouyis said: “Brandon, you left us far too soon my brother, there is a huge void in Benoni.

“You are a legend with all you have done for the community, for the CPF, for AfriForum and the Mighty Wings rehab.

“You had a big heart and would assist anyone with any issues. Your knowledge and expertise on crime you shared with all of us was outstanding and we have all benefited from your advice.”

Archie gave credit to Brandon for the Benoni Community Radio Network (BCRN).

“You gave your all for Benoni community for the past 20 years. You were Benoni’s radioman and if it wasn’t for you there would be no BCRN or crime group or AfriForum channels.

“You managed to secure the C7 car for Benoni with the assistance of ER24. You ran it with professionalism and the whole of Benoni is grateful to you for this.

“So long my brother, fly high with the angels. I know you and Maggie are now looking down upon us; you are gone but never forgotten.

“On behalf of your committee from Sector One CPF, AfriForum Benoni and ER24, we send you our love and thanks for all you have done for us.”

Messages of condolences from loved ones were also shared across social media for the death of the Rynfield couple:
Cheryl Gaw: If you still don’t believe Covid is real, then do so now. We lost a husband and wife team – both supporters of Pug Rescue. You are both going to be missed, Maggie and Brandon Scott.
Bruce McGinn: It’s with a heavy heart that I write these words but we lost Brandon this morning at 09:36 due to complications associated with Covid. [He was a] husband to my mum and stepdad to Michael and myself. Brandon was an ex-military and very old school in his ways but anyone who took the time to know him would have seen a very kind and caring man who dedicated his time to helping others, his passions being the CPF and his addiction counselling. He was a good man with a big heart and a heart that was in the right place, he loved my mum with everything he had and I know she loved him. He never left her side and was always there to support her.
Nico Nel: You had such a positive impact on so many people’s lives, mine included.
Anton Koen: Brandon was a great soldier and served his community with love and care. He will leave a huge gap in our lives and our hearts. Both he and Margie his wife passed away due to Covid within a short time.
Nicola Ramage: This is very heartbreaking. So very sorry to hear, may they both RIP.
