Larry Mervitz (74) loves art in all forms, shapes and styles.
The Rynfield resident has been painting and involved in the Benoni art scene since she retired 14 years ago.
She enjoys painting modern and abstract art pieces. Her preferred medium is oil on canvas, using brush and pallet knife – impasto, although she loves and enjoys painting in watercolours whenever she can.
Larry belongs to many art groups which offer exhibitions, workshops and discussions.
The Benoni Art Route is held at CR Swart Park, Rynfield, on every last Sunday of the month. It has become quite popular with the public for its food, drinks, music and great art.
Among Larry’s favourite artists are Vincent van Gogh, Modigliani, Jackson Pollock, and Picasso.
She particularly likes the Impressionists and Old Masters, seen in Italy and the Netherlands.
