TSA assisting manager’s job fulfills her heart

The Benoni West resident has been part of The Salvation Army since 1995.

Antonette Grobler from The Salvation Army (TSA) finds satisfaction in helping people who need assistance.

“I am so fulfilled in what I do. I am at peace knowing that I have done my best to all whom God has placed before me on my daily journey,” the assistant centre manager said.

“I work closely with our officer and with God’s help and guidance live up to The Salvation Army motto – Heart to God, Hand to Man.

“I handle the finance books and also manage the Goodwill Centre.”

The Benoni West resident has been part of TSA since 1995.

“I have worked at a few places like Pick ‘n Pay Hypermarket Boksburg (27 years), Jack’s Paint and Medicross (seven years),” she said.

“In all this time I never felt fulfilled in what I was doing.”

She shared about her personal life:

“I was born in Port Elizabeth where I started my education. I completed my education at Boksburg High School and went on to Boksburg Technical College to further my education,” she said.

“I have three siblings; I am also the proud aunt of a beautiful niece and handsome nephew.

“I am grateful to God that my mom is still alive. My dad passed away in 2013 unexpectedly and left a huge gap in our lives.”

Outside of work, Grobler enjoys mosaicking, watching sport (she is a Lions rugby supporter), spending time with her family and close friends and watching a good movie.

“I am [also] a proud Rotarian and belong to the Benoni Van Ryn Club,” she said.
