The value of SA Property Investors Network

Property is an important part of an investment portfolio, even in a post-Covid world: By Andrew Walker*

One of the best investments one can make in terms of minimising risks and optimising returns is through property investments.

This could be through buying a rental property, purchasing shares on the stock exchange in listed property companies, buying directly from developers or restoring derelict properties.

Property has and always will be an integral part of any sound investment portfolio.

Also, we are fortunate to live in a democracy where ordinary South Africans from all walks of life can, in theory, own and invest in property. Knowing where to invest and how to invest in property is a skill that can take years to master.

However, if you’re surrounded by property experts and those who have done the hard yards already, you can minimise mistakes and accelerate your financial growth path by avoiding the mistakes that others have made.

I saw first-hand the value of an investor’s network when I was part of a property investor’s network when I lived overseas and it’s why I started one in South Africa.

The SA Property Investors Network (SAPIN) is the country’s biggest property network and strives to enhance, educate, empower and create wealth for those who are passionate about property investment and are looking for passive income to supplement their main income source.

SAPIN has been in existence for more than seven years, however, it was formalised in 2017 with a vision to help the everyday South African succeed through property investment.

I invested in my first property when I was 21 and I’ve come to learn the sky is the limit when it comes to property investment.

And this is exactly what is needed at this time of increased restrictions and economic restraint caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

I believe that the Covid-19 pandemic has shaken up many industries, creating the opportunity for all of us to be bold, to challenge myths and to build a more inclusive economy.

For example, there is a myth that property investing is only for the wealthy; but we have seen young people become investors during Covid-19 by leveraging the right education and the right network.

SAPIN helped a young lady from Cape Town to start the journey of building wealth through property.

A young teacher who knew nothing about property joined the professional membership, which offered her the right education, access to the network’s “power team” and various benefits relevant to property investors.

She bought a property in Gauteng without even viewing it physically, with new technology enabling virtual viewings.

Yes, this is indeed possible! She is a 24-year old first-time buyer who is now making money from earning rental income.

These opportunities are available to other young South Africans and through the network, we provide the support and information available to all levels of property investors to help them make sound property decisions.

The only limitation to buying and selling property is your mindset.

With the correct mindset, you can turn your property portfolio into a stream of monthly income.

There is also no limit to the number of properties one can buy or where one can buy them.

Property investment is for those working in the informal and formal sectors, whether you’re rich or poor, young or old; I believe property investment can work for all South Africans.Imagine a network of investors providing insight and knowledge into the world of property investment; a network that provides the industry’s best methods to succeeding and identifying favourable opportunities for you as a young person, an entrepreneur, a retiree or a professional investor?

SAPIN provides a platform whereby members can sign up for less than R200 per month and get access to networking events, e-books, learning modules, live webinars, group coaching, our ‘Power Team’ and many more perks to assist in growing your wealth or investment portfolio through property investment.

The network puts the right property practitioners around you and the network includes experienced investors, financiers, transferring attorneys and conveyancers, financial advisers, property specialists, estate and letting agents and accountants.

SAPIN will also host the annual Investor of the Year Awards in November to reward and celebrate those that have been brave, bold, and tenacious in property investment.

With cash prizes, vouchers from sponsors and property investment coaching prizes, the Investor of the Year Awards event is open to all South Africans over 18 who have invested in property between November 2019 and the cut-off date of August 2021.

Qualifying property deals must be completed between November 1, 2019, and August 30, 2021.

I want to encourage all South Africans, no matter where you’re from, to join in and find out more about the potentials of property investment as a way to secure your financial future.
