Methodist Homes for the Aged Eddy House residents keep themselves busy by sorting out puzzle pieces for the Kids Haven Charity Shop.
About 10 residents have dedicated their Thursdays to count the puzzle pieces and ensure all the pieces are inside the boxes and ready to be sold.
The leader of the group, Joey Els, said they have been doing this for about three years now and this keeps their minds active.
“We enjoy being out of the house for a bit and we feel like we are giving back to the children’s home,” said Joey.
“In winter we also get unused pieces of material from them and use that material to make dog pillows which are then donated to local animal shelters.”
The ladies and the gentlemen said they always look forward to Thursdays because they get to share jokes and enjoy a cup of tea while they keep busy.
