The Sassa office in Benoni informs clients who were in receipt of a care dependency grant, which lapsed in December, to report to the office to complete new applications.
“We have a total of 57 clients who must report to the office, as the Sassa assessing doctors have done a paper-based assessment and handed the medicals to us,” said Trevor Pillay, local office manager.

“We have attempted calling and sending SMS’s to the said clients and they are still not reporting to the office.”
The applicants who need to reapply are:
KA Mngomezulu, TP Mashinini, NH Ngobe, ZS Ndumo, HD Masuku, KT Zitha, M Sibanyoni, T Maoko, T Motha, R Mhlongo, AJ Garnet-Hall, K Mbalula, T Majola, KS Zwane, K Malungane, L Nkosi, Z Khumalo, MP Ndakane, TK Mohapi, Manana, AN Sibisi, LD Malaji, DP Nkabinde, TP Mashinini, JS Mqikela, N Xulu, LN Khwinike, R Mhlongo, DK Radebe, T Lebelo, GN May, GP Jamgaza, ME Maepa, MR Mdaki, B Matshaya, MM Shea, ZS Ndumo, ZS Ngwenya, TV Mahlangu, TI Radebe, MT Gumede, T Ndlazulwana, MS Majola, AS Bekwa, AY Horn, RI Wilson, TK Rampete, NT Kumalo, T Itshegetseng, R Mogashoe, BM Msimango, US Mgomezulu, MG Rootman, ST Mpungose and N Dludlu.
“These clients must now apply for a dependency grant as they no longer qualify for the care dependency grant since turning 18 years old,” said Pillay.

“There will be no need for these beneficiaries to see a doctor. They should report to the offices with their primary caregiver and will be assisted as a priority.
“We are aware some of these clients may not have a SmartID so will be assisted with their birth certificates and referred to Department of Home Affairs to apply for their ID card.”
