A man was arrested for dealing in drugs recently in Chief Albert Luthuli. Spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mopeli said the man was arrested by the crime prevention members while patrolling in the area.
“The officers saw the man standing at the corner. When he saw them he started running away,” said Mopeli.
“Police gave chase and the man was apprehended. He was found in possession of illicit substances to the value of about R1 500.”

On December 7 in Chief Albert Luthuli, a man was arrested by the crime prevention team for dealing in dagga.
Mopeli said the officers received a tip-off from community members. At the given address they found the man matching the description mentioned by the residents.
“The police searched him and the house. They found him in possession of dagga and they also found a plastic with dagga under his bed,” she said.
The street value of the dagga was about R4 000. He was arrested and detained at the station.
Both cases were opened at the Crystal Police Station and the duo will appear at the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.
