Help Rotary Anns make a difference

The club will appreciate any donations that can be added to the hampers and food parcels for their Christmas Charity Drive.

Benoni Aurora Rotary Anns will commence with their bi-monthly food collection on December 5 at Pick n Pay Farrarmere.

The club will appreciate any donations that can be added to the hampers and food parcels for their Christmas Charity Drive.

The Anns also participated in a charity golf day hosted by the Rotary Club of Benoni Aurora at the Benoni Country Club on November 25.

The Anns were tasked with raising funds for their Christmas Gift Drive which will allow numerous local charities, families and individuals (predominantly based in the greater Benoni area) to receive food parcels and toiletry hampers over the Christmas period.

President of the Benoni Aurora Rotary Anns, Janice Carter, said the largest donation that the Benoni Aurora Rotary Anns received for the Charity Golf Day was from local artist and owner of Art Alive Art School, Elaine Marx.

Elaine donated two of her paintings to the Anns for them to auction. The paintings brought in just over half of the funds raised by the Anns on the day.

The Anns thank Elaine for her support and generous contribution to their cause and for the golf day participants for taking money out of their pockets for the artworks.

Carter urged the Benoni community to support Elaine and the other local artists at the Benoni Art Route held on the last Sunday of every month at C.R. Swart Park, Sarel Cilliers Street, Rynfield.

For any private donations or further enquiries about the work that the Anns are involved in, please contact Carter on 082 549 1123 or like their Facebook page facebook.com/BenoniAuroraRotaryAnns
