Ekurhuleni continues screening and education on Covid-19

This is all part of the fight to reduce the spread of the coronavirus in Ekurhuleni.

Crystal Park residents received a visit from the ward-based intervention team on November 11 (Crystal Park SPAR).

This is all part of the fight to reduce the spread of the coronavirus in Ekurhuleni. The team will be conducting screening, public education and awareness across the metro.

The team consisting of Ekurhuleni officials, Gauteng Department of Cooperate Governance and Traditional Affairs and Aurum Institute, are conducting door-to-door interactions with the community and reiterating the importance of wearing a mask, hand hygiene and practising social distancing.

MMC for Health and Social Development Nomadlozi Nkosi encouraged residents to cooperate with the health-care workers and do their part by adhering to the Covid-19 regulations.

“Health-care workers are on the ground to ensure we fight new infections. As a community member you can do your part by obeying the Covid- 19 protocols and answer all asked questions truthfully when screened to make sure you get the right help,” said Nkosi.

The ward-based team members will provide screening, testing and community awareness and education in the following areas:

• November 10: Oakmoor Taxi Rank/Sethokga Hostel

• November 12: Phumasilwe informal settlement

• November 13: Glen Acres Centre SPAR

• November 16: Ravenswood, Boksburg

• November 17: Madelakufa 2, next to Engen garage

• November 18: Zone 10, Winnie Mandela

• November 19: Tsenelong Section, next to Chicken Licken

• November 20: Karaglen Mall
