Be part of the Wattville clean-up campaign

They will be cleaning the park and streets from Ngoyi to Naheng streets, Wattville.

Wattville residents are invited to help keep their parks and streets clean from 9am on November 7 and 8.

The youngsters of an NPO called Central City Clean-Up Campaign (4Cs) host the clean-ups twice a month.

They will be cleaning the park and streets from Ngoyi to Naheng streets, Wattville.

Thulane Mavimbela, who is one of the organisers, said the clean-ups started in 2019 with the intention to keep their parks clean, preventing crime and to start a community cooperative that will bring economic freedom, such as hosting events at the park that will enable residents to generate an income.

“We also want children to play in the parks instead of playing on the streets so they don’t get hit by vehicles,” said Mavimbela.

“Also, spring is here. We want families to enjoy a day out in the park.”

Anyone who wants to be part of the clean-up or to donate any cleaning tools can contact Mavimbela on 081 549 7323.
