Police appeal for witnesses in Actonville shooting

The motive of the killing is unknown.

The Actonville police are appealing for any information regarding the murder of a 38-year-old man who was shot dead on September 30 on Soma Street around 2pm.

Spokesperson Capt Pheello Mothapo said it is alleged that the deceased parked his vehicle at a petrol station on the same street; he then went across the road to an ATM to withdraw money.

“After the transaction, he was approached by two unknown men from behind who shot him in the upper body,” said Mothapo.

“It is alleged that the two men ran to the Actonville hostel.”

Mothapo said nothing was taken from the deceased and the motive of the killing is unknown.

A case of murder was open at the Actonville Police Station.
