Four arrested during an EMPD operation

The detained foursome, facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substance/s, will appear in the Daveyton and Brakpan magistrate's courts soon.

An EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) crime operation led to the arrest of four suspects in the Brakpan and Etwatwa areas.

“EMPD DEU arrested four male suspects and dagga, crystal meth and Mandrax tablets were confiscated,” said EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng.

“In the Etwatwa area, on Mpumalanga and Mbathane streets, the EMPD team cornered and handcuffed a 29-year-old and 35-year-old caught with two Mandrax tablets and 38 paper-wrapped dagga, valued at R1 200 and R50 cash.

“The pair was taken to the Etwatwa Police Station.”

In a Brakpan incident, a 23 year old and 36 year old were apprehended following body searches. Sixteen ziplocks of dagga and six ziplocks of crystal meth valued at R2 100 were uncovered.

The offenders were taken to Brakpan Police Station.
