Honiball Street residents could not be happier

The veld had become an eyesore to the residents and motorists passing by.

The City Times recently visited a site in Rynfield to investigate numerous complaints about the state of a veld between Honiball Street and Pretoria Road.

After many months of waiting, the residents excitedly woke up to the sound of municipality vehicles.

The veld had become an eyesore to the residents, as they claim crime had escalated drastically and those who had been living in the area for years had never felt more unsafe.

The City Times received images from Debbie Hajjar, whose mom resides in Honiball Street, about the council cleaning the veld.

“There are no more heaps for squatters to live behind and thieves to escape into. We can actually see the main road now.

“All the publicity and the petition worked. Thank you so much Benoni City Times for all your effort.”
