Colgate Road Race to go ahead virtually
For all 2020 entrants, entry fees will be deferred to the 2021 Colgate Road Race, as was done with the Comrades Marathon
The annual Colgate Road Race has followed the trend for 2020 by joining the growing list of virtual races with athletes having the option to compete in either the 32, 15 or 5km distances.
The race is scheduled to take place on October 18 between 6am until midnight.
Entry fee for all distances is charged at R80 and the first 9 000 finishers will receive a T-shirt and a Colgate medal.
Entries close on October 9.
Every entrant will automatically have their Colgate goodie bag donated to a charity in need.The normal version of the event, which was scheduled for May, was forced to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic which has now taken over 10 000 lives in the country.

The Colgate Virtual Race will offer runners the chance to ‘compete’ over their desired distance by measuring their own runs and submitting the timing details to the finishing time results page.
Finishers will be required to submit upload their results, either by way of Strava, Garmin Link, or manually to the finishing time results page before 10am on October 19.
Medals and T-shirts can either be collected from Decathlon stores in Boksburg, Alberton, Centurion or Roodepoort.
Race competitors are required to bring their IDs when collecting their T-shirts and medals.
Finishers also have the option of their medals being posted to them. Postal details must be completed when runners enter on the webtickets.co.za website.
