Women tied up in early-morning house robbery in Brentwood Park

It is not clear how the robbers gained entry into the house or if they used a vehicle to flee the scene

A 39-year-old woman was tied up and threatened with a firearm during a robbery at her home in Kirschner Road, Brentwood Park, at around 1am today (August 27).

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said the victim told police she was asleep and had all the windows closed and doors locked.

“She was woken up by four suspects, all armed with firearms. One of them pointed a firearm at her and told her not to make a noise or he will shoot her,” said Sekele. “They then tied her legs and demanded money, laptops and jewellery.”

The robbers fled with a cellphone, two laptops, two television sets, jewellery and clothes.

It is not clear how the robbers gained entry into the house or if they used a vehicle to flee the scene.

A case of house robbery was opened at the Benoni Police Station.
