Airfield author inspires women to spread their wings

Msibi is the founder of non-profit organisation A Woman of Compassion

Aspiring author Ntokozo Msibi is inspiring women in her newly published book titled Woman! Your pain is valid.

The 35-year-old self-published author released the book on August 15.

The Airfield resident said what inspired her to write the book is the challenges that women go through in their everyday lives.

She explained that in the book, there is a chapter that teaches women to be healthy single mothers by also prioritising themselves.

“Sometimes in life, we seek validation from others. We live our lives in a box. We don’t pursue our dreams,” said Msibi. “Furthermore, we dismiss our pain that was inflicted by either ourselves or other people. The book aims to help women deal with their pain and spread their wings.”

Msibi said the book is for women from all walks of life because it’s a healing and educational read for them.

“I never thought I would be an author. I was once approached to be a co-author on another book but that didn’t work out, so I refused to let my story go to waste and I decided to write my book and publish it. Everything that happened was in God’s will so that I can write this book for women,” she said.

Msibi is pursuing a bachelor of education at the University of South Africa and she is the founder of a non-profit organisation called A Woman of Compassion. The organisation donates toiletries to young girls and boys from Daveyton and she also motivates them.

“I also collect baby clothes and donate them to local hospitals for women who are not financially stable,” she added.

During lockdown, she has bought groceries for families in need. The self-published author added that she wishes to get opportunities to address women from time to time, to encourage them.

“As I will be a teacher, I would like to go beyond the classroom and encourage learners to be dedicated in their studies and to focus on becoming the best version of themselves,” Msibi said.
