Animal welfare centre needs food donations

The organisation has taken in many surrendered animals and only one has been adopted

A rescue rehabilitation centre, based in Zesfontein, is in desperate need of food donations to feed the animals that call the centre home.

Purple Red Paws have opened their home to vulnerable animals since 2016 and will continue to do so.

However, the increase in surrenders and decrease in adoptions has escalated the need for dry cat and dog food at the centre.

Co-founder Zalita Laas said since August, seven dogs have been surrendered and only one has been adopted. Laas spends a lot of time with the animals at the centre and hopes to re-home them to families.

Due to Covid-19 regulations, residents are encouraged to make an appointment before visiting the centre.

To adopt a pet or make a donation, you can contact Zalita on 076 412 2962 or co-founder Marisa Meano on 064 033 5065.
