Couple assaulted, robbed at Brentwood Park retirement village

The husband heard a loud bang from the kitchen and got up to investigate

A couple was tied up during a house robbery at a retirement village in Auret Road, Brentwood Park, this morning (August 5) at around 1.45am.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said according to the husband, the couple was asleep with all windows properly closed and all doors locked.

“The husband heard a loud bang from the kitchen and when he got up to investigate three men entered their bedroom,” said Sekele.

“One of the men pointed a gun at the husband and the other suspect slapped the wife in the face and demanded money. They tied the couple up and ransacked the house, fleeing with wedding rings, a laptop, iPad and cash.”
