Benoni police officer will be remembered for his selflessness
He joined the SAPS in December 1990 and worked at the Benoni SAPS after completing his training
WO Frederick Johannes Meintjes will be remembered as a passionate and dedicated officer.
Meintjes died on July 26.
The 47-year-old officer was the Sector Six manager for over 15 years, during which time he established a good relationship with the community.
He was better known as Frekkie.
He joined the SAPS in December 1990 and worked at the Benoni SAPS after completing his training.
Despite the sorrow and sadness that has come from this loss, his colleagues at the Benoni SAPS described him as a dedicated and committed officer who always put others before himself.
Spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said they have not only lost a member, but also a humble and dedicated colleague who was part of the family.
Meintjes was laid to rest on July 31.
