Benoni Sassa office closed until further notice

The affected offices will be closed temporarily and immediately disinfected for services to resume as soon as possible

The Benoni Sassa office closed today (July 29) until further notice, due to positive Covid-19 cases.

A statement just in from Sassa read: “As a responsible agency, Sassa regards the safety of our officials and that of our beneficiaries as very important and as such this compels us to temporarily close of our Benoni local office from July 29 until further notice.

“Sassa pleads for understanding from our clients in these difficult times. In a case of a closed office in your area, beneficiaries are advised to seek help from the next nearest Sassa office.

“Beneficiaries are requested to note that in all Sassa offices beneficiaries and officials entering our premises are required to wear masks, get screened daily, sanitise and are also required to sign an attendance register to ensure that everyone can be traced in case there is a confirmed positive case.

“In a case where an official tests positive, the office will immediately be closed and the infected official will be in isolation, according to the Department of Health guidelines, while all those who have been in close contact with the official are advised to self quarantine.

“The affected offices will be closed temporarily and immediately disinfected for services to resume as soon as possible. “Notices are placed in visible areas outside our office to advise the affected beneficiaries of the status of the office.”
