December will see completion of Northmead water tower

Once completed, this structure will be the biggest elevated water tower in the southern hemisphere.

The 5.5-megalitre Northmead elevated water tower still a work in progress.

The Northmead 5.5 ML elevated tower is expected to be completed in December 2020.

According to the Ekurhuleni metro spokesperson, Themba Gadebe, the overall progress on the project, which was updated on July 2, stood at 77 per cent complete.

The R44-million project started on May 15, 2018.

The objective of the project was to boost the water pressure in areas around Benoni.
