Three suspects on the loose after a business robbery at a local mall

The case was opened at Benoni Police Station.

Police are investigating a case of business robbery after one of the stores was robbed at a local mall on June 25 on Tom Jones Street around 10.40am.

Spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said it is alleged that three men were involved in the robbery.

“One of the men stood at the door whilst the other one went inside and pretended to be a customer. While one of the staff members was assisting the one who pretended to be a customer, the third robber went straight to the store room,” said Sekele.

“The men found two staff members at the store room and he threatened them with a firearm.”

They fled with 16 cellphones estimated to the value of R33 000.
