A 44-year-old man was arrested in connection with the murder of a mother and son on June 21 at Mayfield Extension Six, Putfontein.
The mother and her son were found dumped at Zesfontein plots on June 15 with multiple stab wounds on the upper body.

Spokesperson Sgt Raider Ubisi said the Putfontein SAPS detectives together with the Crime Prevention Team worked tirelessly in search of the alleged suspect.
“After the intensive search and gathering of information the alleged suspect was found at his home and was arrested,” said Ubisi.
He was charged with double murder.
The man appeared at the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court on June 23.

Station commander Lt Col Wellington Mathiane was pleased with the arrest and said the Putfontein area is no playground for criminals.
He also thanked the members for their efforts.
