Church gives hope to the Etwatwa community

Bethlehem Catholic Church donates bread to those who are in need.

Bethlehem Catholic Church in Etwatwa, ministered by Arch Bishop Elias Mokwena, has partnered with Inner City Ministry in order to reach out to the community by donating bread to those who are in need.

The programme started during the lockdown.The church receives about 450 loaves of bread from Albany daily which they distribute among other churches to support the needy in the community.

Busisiwe Ngwenya, member of the church, said that as a committee they suggested that they should form a unity with other churches within the area of Etwatwa and Daveyton.

“We are very happy that our church has managed to extend a helping hand. We thank God for being our pillar of strength during this time,” said Ngwenya.

Reverend Mohau Mphandwe from Etwatwa Alliance Church is pleased to be part of this initiative.

“I acknowledge the servants of God for this miraculous work they do for the people, I urge all the pastors out there not to lose heart and to keep on serving,”said Mphandwe.
