Dudu Brown Ndlovu, the NPO’s information and communications technology (ICT) programme leader, explained that The Tomorrow Trust was established in 2005 by Kim Normand Dobrin to support orphaned and vulnerable children and youth throughout their educational journey.

“Our mission is to unlock South Africa’s best tomorrow with holistic education today – from the playground to professional,” said Ndlovu.

“We provide academic, career and psycho-social support to our children and youth throughout their academic journey.”

Daveyton learners Hlengiwe Mnculwane (left, Unity Secondary School) and Lenthatile Motloung (Jeppe High School for Girls) were grateful for the donations.

She said they build a tailored programme to support learners by meeting their specific educational needs, be it financial, physical, emotional, social, or all of the above.

“We work with the government, businesses and ordinary citizens to realise the vision of a society with conscious and holistically educated leaders,” she said.

Ndlovu added that they donated educational material to the learners because they want them to remain focused so they can be progressive at the end of the year.

Hlengiwe Mnculwane from Unity Secondary School in Daveyton said she was grateful for the donations, especially the study material, as it will help her to continue studying; she will use the study guides to practise what she doesn’t understand from the textbooks.

Grade 12 learner Lenthatile Motloung said she has been studying hard during lockdown and the study guides came at the right time; she’s looking forward to going back to school on June 1.

The organisation offers holiday and Saturday school programmes from Grade R to 12.

They also offer support to students attending accredited higher education institutions and have an alumni programme where they assist graduates who come from the Tomorrow Trust’s Tertiary Programme.
