“On arrival at the house, the 40-year-old victim said while he was sleeping he was woken up by a hard kick on the door.”

Mopeli said four men entered into the shack, threatened the man and his wife with a firearm, and demanded the R20 000 that they knew his brother gave to him.

“When he told them he no longer had the money, they hit him on the head with the firearm and he fainted.

“When he regained his consciousness later, the robbers were gone and his wife was missing,” said Mopeli.

The robbers took a plasma TV, two cellphones, and a Bluetooth speaker box.

The officers, Sgt Kenneth Mohlala, Const Thabo Makgoba, and Const Seitei Elias, immediately rushed to the streets, and with further investigations they arrested four men.

They were found in possession of the stolen property and a 9mm pistol used in the commission of the crime.

Mopeli said the wife was found with serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
