EMPD come across hijacked SUV

The SUV was found locked next to Mayfield Square shopping mall, still intact.

On the morning of May 11, EMPD Daveyton precinct officers on routine patrol noticed a suspicious special utility vehicle (SUV) parked along Lurie Road, which looked unattended and decided to investigate.

“The abandoned silver Toyota Fortuner, on enquiry, was confirmed to have been hijacked within the vicinity of Turton Street, earlier on,” said EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng.

“SAPS was summoned to lift fingerprints and the reported hijacked vehicle was towed and impounded at Van Ryn’s Deep in Benoni for further investigations.”
