Two suspects have been arrested for a murder and house robbery in Northmead

A case of murder and house robbery was opened at the Benoni Police Station.

Two men, aged between 20 and 25, were arrested in connection with the murder of a 36-year-old man and house robbery on May 10.

One of the alleged suspects was arrested in the Benoni CBD and the other in Farrarmere.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said the deceased, who was looking after a certain house in Northmead, was found with stab wounds to the upper body on May 9.

“It is alleged the man was murdered on May 8 around 6pm,” said Sekele.

“It is alleged that four men were involved in the murder and house robbery, and it is suspected the robbers knew who the deceased was.”

Sekele said police also arrested an unknown man who purchased the cellphone of the deceased.

“The man was charged for being in possession of suspected stolen goods.”

The robbers stole a television, undisclosed amount of money and cellphone.

A case of murder and house robbery was opened at the Benoni Police Station.

All three men are expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.

Police are still searching for the other two alleged suspects.
