One of Hospice Benoni charity shops are open

Hospice provides valuable assistance to patients with life-limiting illnesses as well as support given to family members.

Hospice East Rand is proud and relieved to announce that one of their charity shops in Benoni is open under the Level 4 lockdown regulations.

“This is great news for shoppers looking for winter clothes with the early morning chill in the air,” said marketing and media liaison, Jonquil Siepman.

Carla Steenkamp who co-ordinates the Hospice East Rand Charity Shops said winter clothes are up for sale too.

“We have lots of winter clothing for sale at exceptionally affordable prices and we’re looking forward to assisting shoppers during this economic crisis we are all facing,” she explained.

The Victoria Avenue charity shop that has opened is located at 157 Victoria Avenue, Western Extension and will be open from 9am to 4pm (Monday to Friday), and 9am to 12.30pm every Saturday.

The Hospice East Rand bookshop located at 157 Victoria Avenue, Western Extension, will also be open between 9.30am and noon (Monday to Friday), and the first Saturday of every month from 9am to noon, for those looking for something to read while in lockdown.

All books cost R5.

These two charity shops are also welcoming donations from community members who have been cleaning out cupboards and storing the items for when we open.
