BFS arrests two for dealing in drugs

Investigations continue in all cases.

On May 6, Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) officers arrested two suspects in separate drug busts.

“In the first incident, which occurred at around 10.30am, officers were conducting a vehicle checkpoint on the R555 near N12 highway on-ramp,” said BFS spokesperson WO Grant Giblin.

“A white Honda Ballade was stopped. Upon searching the vehicle a large quantity of loose dagga weighing in excess of 5.5kg was found in a black bag inside the boot.

At around 1.30pm, the same officers were patrolling Kempton Park and noticed a suspicious person on the corner of Commissioner and Pienaar streets.

“Inside a handbag, a large quantity of Cat (methcathinone) was discovered in plastic bags,” Giblin said.

It is alleged the suspect was selling the drugs from the scene.
