BFS arrests more than two dozen people

The suspects are aged between 18 and 47 and will be appearing in the local magistrate's courts on charges of possession of stolen motor vehicle, dealing in drugs and contravention of the Disaster Management Act.

The Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) recently arrested 26 suspects and recovered two vehicles.

“Officers arrested 23 for contravening the Disaster Management Act Regulations around the N12 and R21 highways, Etwatwa, Geduld and Benoni,” said BFS spokesperson WO Grant Giblin.

Two more suspects were arrested, one in Tembisa for being in possession of dagga and another in Springs on a warrant for a business break-in.

“The one vehicle recovered had been reported to Daveyton police shortly before being found and another vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux bakkie, was reported stolen in Etwatwa and was recovered abandoned in Ringo Street, Mphomalong, Tembisa.”
