Mazibuko was arrested for impersonating a police officer on January 29 at the SAPS Vehicle Pound in Mackenzie Park.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said Mazibuko was found in possession of a docket with documents that had a police emblem on it and a police two-way radio.

“Upon further investigations it was established that he is linked to several cases, one of which was of having previously had impersonated a police officer. However, the charges were withdrawn,” said Sekele.

The station commander, Brig Ntakuseni Lukhwareni, applauded Det WO Richard Mazibuko for a job well done with the investigation.
