#Lockdown: Local businessman donates food parcels to the needy in Wattville

The businessman who is known for donating school shoes to the children in need will be donating food parcels to those in need during this 21-day national lockdown.

Local businessman Given Muhlarhi donated 36 food parcels to families in need on April 3 in Wattville.

He said that the decision to embark on this campaign was formed by the fact that not everyone in Ekurhuleni will manage to sustain themselves and their loved ones until April 16.

“It is impossible for the unemployed and those relying on informal jobs to get through this period,” said Muhlarhi.

“This therefore calls on us as business people to assist where we can.”

Muhlarhi appeals to other business people and members of the society who can afford to make a contribution to contact him so that he can consolidate the donations for easy distribution purposes.

He added that he will be donating these food parcels to these families with the help of social workers who will identify the deserving families.
