Help police identify decomposed body found in Putfontein

An inquest docket was opened and police are investigating.

A decomposed body was found on April 8 at an open veld near Brazil Street in Putfontein at around 11.30am.

Spokesperson Sgt Raider Ubisi said a man who was walking with his dog near the veld noticed a sudden change of behaviour from his dog as it started barking and going towards the veld.

“The man then went to look and he saw a decomposed body of a human that was just lying there.

“The man alerted the police, and upon arrival the police noticed that the body was burnt,” said Ubisi.

The gender of the person is not known and a post-mortem is being conducted.
